Mexico continues march to be among leading worldwide tourist destinations

Sunday, 27 Jul, 2006 0

Mexico continues to appear on traveler’s maps and now ranks eighth in international tourism arrivals, according to figures from the World Tourism Organization.

The country had almost 22 million visitors last year.

Mexico’s main attractions include its beaches, its cultural and adventure tourism options and its perception of low cost.

Mexico’s popularity is in part due to its growing air service. But the country itself has put in place a comprehensive long-term tourism plan through 2025 that is aimed at increasing international visitors.
