Miami Airport TSA spots live snake hidden in hard drive
Attentive TSA screeners managed to prevent the next instalment of Snakes on a Plane.
Transportation Security Administration agents at Miami International Airport seized a python carefully hidden inside a computer hard drive.
The screening of the checked bag identified ‘organic mass’ prompting a call to a TSA bomb expert as it was inside an electronic component.
Once determined it was a snake US Fish and Wildlife officers took over.
"Interception prevented a possible wildlife threat on an aircraft," the TSA said.
"Animals of many species have been known to escape and chew through wires with fatal results."
The TSA said the passenger who ‘artfully concealed the snake inside the electronics of a hard drive’ did not make the flight to Barbados and will be fined.
