Mike Platt to stand down from HRG
Mike Platt, one of the best known and highly respected executives in business travel, is to take early retirement from Hogg Robinson Group after 19 years.
He is to step down as group industry affairs director at the end of June to take on consultancy work.
There will be no direct replacement. Instead three senior managers will pick up his responsibilities.
HRG Europe West managing director Peter Kite will focus on supplier partnerships and industry affairs; HRG finance director Julian Steadman will look after commercial relationships; and HRG partner network general manager Adrian Woodward will take on a wider partner remit supported by general counsel and central services director, Keith Burgess.
HRG chief executive David Radcliffe said: “Mike joined HRG back in 1989 and during that time he has been a great ambassador for both the Company and the travel and leisure industry. We wish him all the very best for the future.â€
Platt said: “Having achieved all my goals over the last 19 years with a top company, I leave with fond memories and take great pride in having been part of a winning team; I wish everyone at HRG on-going success.â€
He joined HRG UK as sales director and has held various positions including commercial affairs director and international commercial director before being appointed managing director of HRG UK.
Platt has been in his current role since 2006.
