Minion Fart Blaster gun deemed security risk
A mum says her three-year-old was left ‘distraught’ after airport security staff confiscated his toy gun.
The Minion Fart Blaster megaphone toy has a trigger which makes the gun light up and make rude noises every time it is pulled and staff at Dublin Airport explained anything with a trigger is a security risk.
Mum Daire Fitzpatrick posted on Facebook to explain her son, Leo, was ‘devastated’ that the £25 gun had been taken away from him as they were travelling home to Nottingham after a family trip.
The airport has used the incident to warn people to think carefully about what they pack in their luggage.
A spokesman said: "Toy guns and replica guns are on the prohibited items list and we urge people to check this before they travel.
"While we apologised to the family for the inconvenience caused we did say that we would hold onto the Minion toy so the family can collect [it]."
