Mohegan Gaming’s South Korea resort to get movie theme park
Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment has tapped Paramount Pictures Corp to develop a branded theme park at its South Korea integrated casino resort.
The first phase opening of the Inspire Integrated Entertainment Resort, located next to Incheon International Airport, has been pushed back a year to 2022, with ground breaking expected in May 2019.
The total cost of the development will be more than US$5billion.
The first phase opening will include 1,250 hotel rooms, retail outlets, a casino reserved for international guests, convention space, and a 15,000-seat arena.
The Paramount theme park will open later in 2025, although no specific details have been released yet regarding specific park attractions.
"We are proud to have Paramount Pictures join us as a strategic partner. It demonstrates the Mohegan Tribe’s commitment to growing South Korea’s travel, tourism and workforce development goals," said Kevin Brown, chairman of the Mohegan Tribe and Mohegan Gaming management board.
