Mole Cricket Club returns empty-handed
The Mole Cricket Club (MCC) returned from Jamaica with an empty trophy bag as they got soundly beaten by an invitation Jamaican XI last Friday.
Fielding first the home side scored 158 off their allotted 20 overs. Tight spells from McKenzie, Cairns and Morgan kept the score down after some profligate bowling by Wrightman, Hinds and Marpole.
The MCC innings got off to a poor start with both openers, Wrightman and Borley going for ducks. Some late effective stroke play got the score up to a respective total with Cairns, Martin and Marpole amongst the runs.
The Jamaican attack was led by ex-test cricketer and the most successful fast bowler in history Courtney Walsh.
