Mole Poll: Role of travel agents key issue for industry in 2013

Results of a recent Mole Poll show that readers believe the human element is the most important issue for the travel industry in the new year.

The lion’s share (56%) of  readers polled said the need for the human element in travel (travel agents) in an increasingly high tech world was the most important issue for the travel and tourism industry in 2013. 

Other readers (22%) chose Internet-driven marketing and sales, including mergers and advances in technology tied with 22% who chose airline advancements like the Dreamliner as the cutting edge of travel in the coming year.

In a separate poll, 72% of readers said 2013 would be a better year for the travel industry, as opposed to 28% who were not optimistic about the industry’s health in 2013.
