Monarch extends Sharm cancellations further
Monarch has extended the cancellation of flights to and from the UK to Sharm el Sheikh up to and including Sunday January 24 2016.
The airline said although it continues to work with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Department for Transport, their advice remains unchanged and still advises customers against all but essential air travel to Sharm.
"As a result, Monarch has taken this proactive decision to allow our customers to make alternative holiday plans as soon as possible," it said.
Customers affected can change a booking to a later date, re-book to another destination on the Monarch network, request a credit note towards future travel, or get a refund.
The airline has put on additional flights to mainland Spain, Faro, Gibraltar and Tenerife.
The decision comes as Egyptian investigators claimed there was no evidence the Metrojet crash in the Sinai in October was terror-related.
In the wake of the crash the UK Government suspended all but essential travel to and from Sharm and Russia cancelled all flights to and from Egypt.
