Monarch finds new Gatwick ground handler
Monarch has appointed Airline Services to handle its ground services at London Gatwick.
The move comes after it terminated its contract with Swissport following a series of baggage handling delays at the London airport in July.
"This is a significant change to Monarch’s operations at Gatwick Airport and represents our commitment to customer service," said Michael Whitfield, head of procurement for Monarch Airlines.
"We understand that ground handling has an important impact on our customers’ experiences and we are mindful that high service levels need to come as standard across Monarch – which includes any interactions our customers may have with third party suppliers."
Swissport remains Monarch’s ground handler at Manchester and Leeds Bradford and also at some of its European bases.
The airline switched from Swissport to Menzies at Birmingham and London Luton in March.
