Monarch flew more despite terror threat
Monarch carried more scheduled passengers in August despite the terror threat and increased airport security.
The airline recorded an 18.3% rise in passengers carried to 359,209 over the same peak summer month last year.
The proportion of internet sales rose by 5% to represent 85% of bookings.
“Despite the increased terror threat and heightened security at airports, Monarch did not cancel any flights and carried 10,000 more passengers in one month than ever before,” a statement said.
