Monarch unveils in-flight entertainment initiative
Monarch has launched an ‘industry leading’ personal inflight entertainment service called MPlayer.
It allows passengers to connect to the on-board wireless network via their own iOS or Android smartphone or tablet and access free and pay-to-access in-flight entertainment content.
Passengers will need to download the free MPlayer app to access the system before their flight; the app is available in the AppStore, GooglePlay and Amazon App Store.
Free services include digital versions of Monarch’s two in-flight magazines, Love to Shop, plus restaurant and bar reviews from TripAdvisor and BarChick.
Or passenger can pay £3.99 per person per flight to access five blockbuster Hollywood movies, over 50 episodes of BBC Worldwide programmes and an extensive music library of over 50 albums.
The service is currently available on six aircraft operating across the Monarch fleet and the roll out will continue into next year.
Earlier this year, Monarch began installing new seats with a seatback tablet holder so customers can watch their tablets or smartphones without having to hold them or use the tray-table.
