Travelmole knew it all along.
For years business travellers have had us believing they are frantically busy reading reports and balancing budgets whilst flying between meetings.
Now it emerges that actually they prefer watching films and reading their favourite novels.
According to a survey of European corporate road warriors on habits and choices when flying commissioned by Delta Air Lines, business flights present them with an opportunity to relax and enjoy themselves and they are far more likely to be watching The King’s Speech than number crunching.
Of the respondents questioned, 93% of Brits, 94% of the French, 88% of Germans and 91% of Spaniards placed a high value on being pampered by crew and settling down to a film or a book.
Delta’s senior vice president Europe, Middle East and Africa Perry Cantarutti said: “The survey results highlight some of the key trends for Europeans flying for business purposes. More than anything else, it indicates that travellers want to escape the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life and unwind on their flights. And when it comes to deciding which carrier to fly with, business travellers want a well-timed, frequent schedule at a competitive price and quality business class product offering.”
