More than 220 women died in Phnom Penh tragedy
The official death toll from a festival stampede in Phnom Penh, the Cambodian capital, now stands at 347, the social affairs minister said, after earlier putting the figure at 456.
The ministry said 221 of the victims were women.
Many of the dead were young Cambodians visiting the capital for a water festival.
A preliminary investigation into the stampede has found a swaying footbridge triggered the panic.
Eyewitnesses said some people were crushed on a bridge, while many others fell into the water and drowned.
The accident happened on a bridge leading to the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre the venue for the 2011 Asean Tourism Forum in January.
