More than 50 flights still cancelled from T5

British Airways said it is working towards operating 92% of its schedules from Terminal 5 by Thursday (April 3).

The airline said longhaul flights will operate as planned, but some domestic and European flights remain cancelled.

Today and tomorrow, around 50 flights have been cancelled and by Thursday this figure will be reduced to around 30.

By Friday, BA hopes to be flying 360 flights out of 394.

“All customers travelling to and from Terminal 5 will be able to check in with both hand and hold baggage,” it said.

“Flights to and from Heathrow Terminals 1 and 4 continue to operate normally.”

It is advising passengers to check arrivals and departures information before they travel to the airport.

Customers on cancelled services will be able to rebook or receive a refund.

The airline is still working its way through the baggage backlog caused by disruption to the baggage system on the opening day of the terminal.

“It may take us several days to process baggage as we have to process each bag manually,” it said.

“We understand how frustrating this is. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.”
