More than half of travel agents are nervous about travelling again
Almost a quarter of travel professionals won’t be happy to travel again even after they’ve received the Covid vaccine.
In a TravelMole poll, a further 26% said they might be happy to go away again after getting the vaccine, which is being rolled out across the UK, but it was only a ‘maybe’, suggesting they weren’t totally sure.
Only just under half of the 1,000+ travel professionals who responded to the survey agreed they would feel comfortable travelling again once vaccinated.
So far, the UK has vaccinated only a little over one million people. Prime Minister Boris Johnson says the aim is to have vaccinated the four most vulnerable groups – a total of 13 million people – by mid-February.
However, the new lockdown restrictions introduced today could remain in place until the end of March, he said.
Daily vaccination figures for the UK will be released on Monday.
What the Mole says:
If travel professionals would be wary travelling again even after receiving the vaccine, how can they possibly convince customers to book overseas trips?
Perhaps what is needed is a ‘Charley Says’ style public information campaign to convince the public that once they’re vaccinated they’re safe – if this is actually the case.
"Charley Says get the jab, book a holiday, enjoy your trip." Boom!
