More US airlines jump on fare spike
After United announced an increase of domestic US roundtrip travel from between $4 and $10 last week, more domestic airlines have followed suit.
Southwestern, JetBlue, Virgin America, American, US Airways and Delta have all signed on to similar plans, although they may have wait for the dollars to roll in after the expected end-of-summer sales that can reduce tickets up to 20 percent.
Industry analysts cite the Southwestern effect. As Southwestern goes, so goes the nation (at least in terms of airfare hikes).
