Morris to leave Cathay after 27 years
Derek Morris has resigned as Cathay Pacific’s sales and marketing manager Australia, effective January 2012.
Morris joined CX in Western Australia in 1984 from British Airways and was transferred to Sydney where, in 1997, he was appointed as national sales and marketing manager.
“Now, after 27 years with the airline, I feel it is time to explore new challenges,†he said.
“I have loved my role at Cathay where I have met and worked with so many wonderful colleagues and travel industry personalities.
“Professionally I have been very proud of what Cathay Pacific has achieved in Australia. We have grown frequency and revenue, refocused our sales teams and won awards for the best sales and marketing team in the Cathay network.â€
Morris will remain in Sydney.
