Most US airlines flunk the test
Alaska Airlines: F. AirTran: F. American Airlines: F
When GetHuman released its grades for the call-center operations of many American companies, the airlines repeatedly received failing grades.
In fact, Continental Airlines, Delta, Midwest, Northwest, US Airways and United all got F’s.
Spirit escaped failure by getting a C.
JetBlue and Southwest both performed better with a B.
“If you discount the discount airlines (Southwest, JetBlue, AirTran) and the smaller carriers, the airline industry gets a big, fat F,” said Christopher Elliott in his newsletter Ellipses.
Earlier, TripAdvisor asked 6,000 travelers to name the worst airlines. The votes came in this way:
1. US Airways, including America West (407 votes) *
2. United Airlines (307 votes)
3. Delta Air Lines (305 votes)
4. Northwest Airlines (279 votes)
5. Southwest Airlines (276 votes)
6. American Airlines (229 votes)
7. Continental Airlines (191 votes)
“In other words, if you want customer service, don’t call an airline,” added Mr. Elliott.
