Former TUI UK boss and Travelzest chief executive Chris Mottershead has been named as managing director of TUI’s businesses in Russia and the CIS.
He joined TUI Travel last November from Travelzest as interim chief financial officer and integration director of the Sunwing business in Canada following a joint venture agreement between Signature Vacations and Sunwing.
Mottershead will start the transition into his new role during May and will be relocating to Moscow over the summer.
He succeeds Michael Kimmer, who will be transferring to another senior role within TUI Travel’s central Europe region.
Managing director, specialist & emerging markets sector Richard Prosser said: “Chris brings with him a wealth of tour operating experience, having been in the industry for over 20 years.
“I’m sure that this experience will add considerable value to our businesses in Russia and Ukraine as we continue our strategy to build a leading position in these markets.
“I would like to thank Michael for his contributions over the past 18 months and wish Chris much success in driving our business in Russia & CIS into the next stage of its growth.”
