MPs want Government to create tourism jobs
The majority of MPs feel the Government should do more to create tourism jobs.
According to research by ABTA, 76% of MPs believe more should be done to develop domestic, inbound and outbound tourism in order to create jobs
Seven in ten also agree that the Government should give equal importance to all tourism sectors – domestic, inbound and outbound.
This is 2% higher than a poll of MPs a year earlier.
The findings come ahead of ABTA’s new Tourism Mix Manifesto which will forward positive policy proposals that the Government could adopt to grow tourism in all sectors.
This will be launched on 27 February at the House of Commons.
Luke Pollard, Head of Public Affairs, ABTA said: "It is promising to see so many MPs agreeing with ABTA about the need for Government to do more to support all sectors of our industry.
"We will be presenting our recommendations about how Government can help tourism businesses to grow, employ more people and add to economic growth when we launch our set of policies for creating a vibrant tourism mix in Parliament on 27th February."
