Mystery death on American Airlines flight from Brazil
NBC News and other news sources report that an American Airlines jet traveling from Sao Paolo, Brazil to North Texas was diverted to Houston because of the mystery illness and subsequent death of a 24-year-old female passenger.
The passenger was seen collapsing after leaving the rest room. An onboard physican was called but the passenger died before the flight was able to land at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.
Homicide detectives were called to the airport but found no signs of trauma on the body. Results of an autopsy have not yet been released and the passenger has yet to be named.
