Nassau dropped from Virgin’s Caribbean network
Virgin Atlantic is dropping direct flights from the UK to Nassau in the Bahamas.
The airline said there was not sufficient demand to warrant direct weekly flights.
From March 17 next year, passengers will have to fly to Miami and take a connecting flight to the Bahamas.
The suspension of the route comes despite the airline forecasting a 20% increase in carryings on its Caribbean routes this winter over last year to 350,000 passengers.
