NCL, Regent Seven Seas to mandate Covid jabs for crew members
Norwegian Cruise Line and sister brand Regent Seven Seas Cruises plan to make Covid vaccinations mandatory for all crew members.
Parent Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings said it is ‘exploring all options’ for guests and ship crew and ‘it is our intention that all crew members be vaccinated before boarding our vessels, subject to availability of the vaccine.’
"We continue to closely monitor the evolving impacts of the Covid-19 global pandemic and vaccine developments," the company said.
This week has seen another round of cruise cancellations as cruise lines continue to push back the timeline to restart operations.
NCLH cruise lines have cancelled all cruises until at least May 2021 and there is still no definitive date on when they will restart sailing.
There are still many hoops still to jump through for cruise lines before they can satisfy the terms of the CDC’s Framework for Conditional Sailing Order.
So far, only one cruise line – UK based Saga – has announced that a vaccinination is mandatory for all guests.
