A Norwegian Cruise Line ship is back on track after losing power just after its departure.
Norwegian Star left New York’s Manhattan Cruise Terminal and almost immediately ran into trouble.
An outage occurred shortly after and left the ship adrift in the Hudson River.
It left it with no propulsion, or air conditioning and water supply.
The ship was on a 14-night transatlantic sailing to Iceland.
Tug boats had to guide it back to the port.
Manhattan, where thankfully, the issue was able to be resolved quickly.
“As a result of a technical propulsion issue, the captain made the decision to return to the port with the assistance from two tugboats,” Norwegian Cruise Line said.
However, the problem didn’t last for long.
“After further inspection, the issue was quickly resolved by the time the ship returned to port“
The ship has departed again and was expected in Halifax, NS today, July 14.
It is expected to make up time and complete all scheduled port calls which include Nuuk, Greenland Akureyri and Reykjavik, Iceland.
