NCL’s Pearl arrives early
Norwegian Cruise Line has brought forward the delivery of new ship Norwegian Pearl by three months.
The 2,376-passenger ship will now enter service in November this year instead of February 2007 with itineraries yet to be released.
The line is also taking delivery of Pride of Hawaii for its NCL America brand next month and Norwegian Gem in 2007.
Meanwhile, NCL has announced staff additions at its London offices, with Wendy Sansome joining from Cunard as operations manager UK & Ireland, Kaye Thomas from STA Travel heading a new product development department for both NCL and Orient Lines and Cheryl Smith promoted to call centre manager.
Sansome will report to Sally-Anne Beasley, director, passenger services, and will be responsible for all aspects of operations across both the NCL and Orient Lines brands.
“We are delighted to welcome Wendy to NCL,” Beasley said. “She has had a distinguished career within the cruise industry and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her for this new and exciting position.”
