Neilson goes direct-sell only on selected winter product

Thursday, 13 Mar, 2017 0

Neilson has made its 2017-18 Mountain Collection product direct-sell only, but says the rest of its range will remain available through the trade.

The operator describes its Mountain Collection as ‘hand-picked skiing chalets and ski hotels’ offering a ‘charm and homely feel’.

There are seven properties in the collection, in Andorra, Austria, France and Italy.

The move came to light after an agent posted on the Facebook site Travel Gossip to say she’d tried to book a regular group on a Mountain Collection holiday and had been told by Neilson the collection was no longer sold through the trade.

She now fears she will lose the booking.

A spokeswoman for Neilson said: "We currently have 100 properties across our winter portfolio and for winter 2017/18, we have made the decision to sell our seven Mountain Collection properties direct.

"Agents will continue to have the opportunity to sell Neilson holidays to the remaining 93 properties across Europe, which represents 95% of our winter programme, and we look forward to continuing our great relationship with the trade."

The spokeswoman would not comment on whether Neilson plans to expand direct-sell only to selected summer holidays.
