Neilson to offer free coaching and guiding
Neilson is introducing free coaching and guiding to guests staying in one of its 24 Mountain Collection properties this winter.
The operator said the move would bring its ski product in line with its summer Beachclub programme, which includes tuition for all activities.
"Proud to have pioneered ‘ski leading’ back in the 70s, Neilson is going back to its roots of high value, great service and innovative ideas with the ‘Neilson Mountain Experts’ providing guests with a free guiding and coaching service each week," it said.
It will be one of only a handful of UK operators to offer complimentary ski guiding in France this winter after the French authorities banned UK operators from offering the service unless they used fully-qualified ski instructors.
Neilson confirmed all its guiding would be done by qualified instructors and it is working with approved ski schools in France, including the European Ski & Snowboard School in Les Deux Alpes.
It said the service is aimed at confident blue and red run skiers and boarders over the age of 18.
"This coaching will allow guests to get back in the swing of things since their last trip to the mountains, as well as improving their all-round ski or boarding ability," it said.
Those joining the sessions, which can be booked on the first day of the holiday, will be able to jump the queues at the lifts and as such, maximise their time on the mountain.
Sessions include ‘Carve it up’, ‘Nail those turns’, ‘Back to black’ and ‘Winter legs’ designed to help improve technique. Neilson is also offering family guiding, suitable for ages 12 years and up within the ‘Neilson Mountain Experts’ programme.
Neilson’s Mountain Collection includes seven hotels and 17 chalets in France, Austria and Italy.
