Nevada regulator seeks to ban Steve Wynn from gaming industry
State gambling regulators have made a move to bar former casino magnate Steve Wynn from holding a gaming license again.
The Gaming Control Board filed a complaint against Wynn to revoke his status as a suitable licensee.
It lists the various sexual misconduct allegations against Wynn which he has consistently denied and has not been convicted of any criminal offense relating to them.
The Board has asked Nevada’s Gaming Commission to fine and revoke his status.
The Commission has final say on licensing matters.
The gaming control board conducted an investigation into Wynn over the allegations centering on settlements made to former employees.
He stepped down as chief of Wynn Resorts last year and sold his company shares, and has given no indication he plans to return to the industry in the future.
Wynn Resorts ultimately retained its casino license but was fined $20 million alleging the company failed to take the allegations seriously enough
If the gaming commission serves the complaint on Wynn he will have 15 days to respond,
