New $2 billion theme park coming to Oklahoma
Northeast Oklahoma is getting a new $2 billion theme park.
Details have been shared about the American Heartland Theme Park and Resort, near Grand Lake on Route 66.
The 1,000-acre development will include a 125-acre theme park with Americana themed attractions.
The theme park will comprise different American lands – Great Plains, Bayou Bay, Big Timber Falls, Stony Point Harbor, Liberty Village and Electropolis.
There will be rides, live shows, family attractions.
It is scheduled to open in 2026.
The development will open in phases starting with a RV park with cabins set to launch in 2025.
It will also eventually have a 300-room hotel and indoor water park.
“We are thrilled to make Oklahoma the home of American Heartland Theme Park and Resort,“ CEO Larry Wilhite said.
“At the crossroads of the heartland, Oklahoma is an attractive location for a family entertainment destination.”
According to state officials it will create about 4,000 jobs.
