New airline Akasa Air will allow pets onboard
India’s newest airline Akasa Air will start allowing pets into the cabin from next month.
From November 1, passengers may bring domesticated dogs or cats in a secure carrier weighing up to 7 kg. Booking for pet travelbegins from October 15.
Larger pets weighing up to 32 kg must go in the cargo hold
The airline has partnered with NGO Umeedforanimals for its pet handling policy.
A fee is applicable but the airline hasn’t disclosed how much it will be.
