New airline baggage service better than curb-side
American Airlines began something better than curb-side check in: AAdvance Bag Check.
It allows passengers to check bags in remote locations such as onboard cruise ships, hotels and convention centers throughout the US.
Passengers also receive their boarding passes, enabling them to go directly to security screening and their gates.
Their baggage is transported directly to their destination.
Rules require bags to be dropped off at least 24 hours prior to departure.
The service is offered from several cruise lines with more expected in the future. Other locations include Disney resorts and hotels in Orlando, Chicago and other areas.
Baggage Airline Guest Services Inc. supplies the service, which costs about $10 to $20.
