New airline startup aha! launches in Reno
America’s newest airline startup has taken to the skies.
Nevada-based aha! is the scheduled leisure brand from regional carrier ExpressJet which serves destinations on the West Coast from Reno.
The airline’s intriguing name comes from ‘air-hotel-adventure.’
It plans to focus on West Coast states.
It launched with a flight to Pasco Tri-Cities Airport in Washington, followed by Bakersfield, CA and Medford, Oregon later this month.
Other upcoming routes include Eugene, Oregon Ontario and Fresno CA, and Redmond, Oregon.
According to ExpressJet’s CEO Subodh Karnik, aha! will partner with resorts, casinos and attractions to offer bundled vacation packages.
It is offering introductory fares of $49 one way until November 15.
"We’re really excited to provide Tri-Cities residents the opportunity to take short trips to Reno and Lake Tahoe without the hassle of a long drive or multiple airport stops and layovers," Karnik said.
