New Carnival ship to sail the Med
Carnival Cruise Lines’ new ship Carnival Freedom’s inaugural schedule will be in the Mediterranean from March 2007.
The 110,000-ton vessel is to operate from Rome (Civitavecchia) offering two different 12-day itineraries until October 16.
The 1,487-cabin ship will mark Carnival’s first visits to Turkey and the Greek Islands.
Two itineraries will be featured – seven Mediterranean & Greek Islands cruises calling at eight ports including Naples, Rhodes, Izmir, Istanbul, Piraeus, Katakolon and Livorno and 12 Grand Mediterranean cruises calling at seven ports including Naples, Dubrovnik, Venice (two days), Messina, Barcelona, Cannes and Livorno.
Carnival Freedom’s facilities will include 22 lounges and bars, a 13,300-square-foot spa, jogging track, internet café, four pools and a 214-foot water slide.
