New commercial director at Travelport
Travelport has appointed Guy Snelgar as commercial director to lead its UK sales and account management teams.
He replaces Paul Broughton, who was promoted to managing director for UK and Ireland after Simon Ferguson was made VP and managing director of Northern Europe.
Snelgar worked at Travelport (then Galileo) at the very start of his career, as account and sales manager.
During his 25-year travel career he also worked for the other two GDSs, an international hotel chain, and a TMC.
Most recently he was head of sales at Diners Club International and he is also a supplier director at the Institute of Travel Management.
"I’m thrilled to be back at Travelport and to be joining at such an interesting time in the Company’s growth story," said Snelgar, who will report into Broughton.
"It’s been fascinating to see it transform from a traditional GDS to a Travel Commerce Platform. I’m now looking forward to telling that story and explaining how we can add real value to our customers’ business."
