A former director of public affairs for the Institute of Directors is to join ABTA as head of policy and communciations.
David Marshall joins the association in October responsible for stregthening ABTA’s lobbying role with government and the European Union as well as overseeing media relations and general communications.
The appointment follows long-standing ABTA head of corporate affairs Keith Betton’s decision to leave the organisation, which he announced in May.
Marshall (49) will report to ABTA chief executive Mark Tanzer, who said: “We look forward to welcoming Mr Marshall who brings with him a vast wealth of experience in public affairs. He will undoubtedly continue to strengthen the public face of ABTA with the Government, ABTA members and the media.”
