New contemporary look for P&O ships
P&O Cruises World Cruising is changing the livery of its fleet, with its eight ships taking on a contemporary look featuring the Union Jack as well as distinctive blue funnels.
Under the changes, the cruise line’s new flagship Britannia, the largest cruise ship deployed exclusively for the British market, will display the longest version of the Union flag anywhere in the world, at 94 metres.
P&O says the livery update will "celebrate more clearly the cruise line’s British heritage".
The ships will also have distinctive blue funnels carrying an illuminated rising sun motif which depicts the Oriental part of the Peninsular and Oriental (P&O) brand on the company’s coat of arms.
The new livery will be seen first on P&O Cruises Aurora following her dry dock later this year, followed by Britannia at her launch in February 2015, and on all other P&O Cruises’ ships by the end of 2016.
