Three summer cruises from the UK have been dropped and replaced by four others by new company Cruise & Maritime Voyages.
The company’s ship Ocean Countess will no longer be running an August 14 Iberian Discovery departure for 12 nights from Greenock; a six-night Celtic Highlights departure also from Greenock on August 26 or a 12-night Iberian Discovery sailing from Liverpool on September 1.
Instead the line is deploying the vessel on four new departures:
*August 14 – eight nights Fjord cruise from Greenock
*August 22 – four nights Scottish Islands from Greenock
*August 27 – eight nights Fjord cruise from Liverpool
*September 4 – nine nights British Isles and France cruise from Liverpool
Passengers booked on the original itineraries will be offered an alternative cruise option, the company said.
Sales manager Michelle Daniels said: “We have had a fantastic response for the regional departures of the Ocean Countess.
“However, such has been the popularity for cruises to the Fjords and those featuring ports of the British Isles, we have decided to make changes in order to meet the demand.”
The new cruise line has booked 13,500 passengers for next year out of a capacity of 27,000.
The replacement itineraries bring the total number of cruises for 2010 to 47.
