New Darwin-Bali service set to go
DARWIN – A second airline is set to start a direct route linking Darwin and Bali.
SkyAirWorld is planning up to 14 flights a week.
The airline intends to start flying the route from February 16, according to the Northern Territory News.
Jetstar will be the only airline flying directly to Denpasar when Airnorth stops flying the route.
Garuda Indonesia had intended to start a thrice-weekly flight to Jakarta in December, but the global financial crisis pushed backed these plans until later this year.
SkyAirWorld intends to use its 76-seat Embraer E-170 or 94-seat E-190 jets on the route.
The airline already has an agreement with Timor Air for a daily Darwin to East Timor route to start next week.
Timor Air will use a 94-seat Embraer E-190, which will be based in Darwin and SkyAirWorld will provide management support and cabin crew training.
