New expedition yacht to launch in Galapagos

Eco travel company andBeyond is expanding its South America portfolio with the launch of an expedition yacht in the Galapagos Islands.

Named the andBeyond Galapagos Explorer, the yacht will operate on two seven-night Galapagis cruise itineraries in the east and west of the archipelago.

It has just six suites and cabins, accommodating up to a dozen guests, with two expert guides on each departure.

“The Galapagos is a natural choice for our portfolio in South America. We are thrilled to bring our brand to this precious part of the world,” said andBeyond Executive Chairman & CEO, Joss Kent.

It says the Galapagos Explorer the most exclusive yacht operating in the islands.

It houses four cabins and two luxury suites, as well as spacious indoor and outdoor guest areas.

Ahead of its maiden Galapagos cruise on 17 June 2024, the Galapagos Explorer is undergoing an extensive refurbishment of its interiors.

Highlights of the eastern Galapagos cruise itinerary include Kicker Rock, located just off San Cristóbal Island, as well as sightings of waved albatross in Gardner Bay on Española Island.

The western Itinerary features Sombrero Chino Island and encounters with the rare Santa Fe land iguana on Santa Fe Island.

Both itineraries offer opportunities for land and sea exploration such as snorkeling, hiking and birdwatching.

Rates for both itineraries start from $10,950 per person.
