Budget hotel chain easyHotel has appointed Marc Vieilledent as chief financial officer.

He replaces Darren Mee who resigned and left the group in January.

Vieilledent, who joins on May 5, previously worked for French hotel chain Accor for 16 years.

He worked there until 2013, most recently as executive VP of asset management.

As a member of Accor’s Executive Committee, he was responsible for strategy, real estate and mergers and acquisitions between 2010 and 2013.

Before that, he was senior VP in charge of corporate finance and real estate.

Easyhotel chairman Jan Astrand said Vieilledent adds ‘international operating experience which combines well with our international brand and will help with the rollout of more easyHotels internationally, as well as in the UK’.
