Tempo Holidays offers a new four-day Taste of Berlin package, ideal for first time travellers to the city.

In addition, Tempo Holidays is suggesting that agents add a unique, 90 minute tour where travellers get behind the wheel of a Trabant, a quaint 26-horsepower car to explore the streets of Berlin in a Trabant convoy.

The Taste of Berlin package (from $461 per person twin share) includes private arrival transfer in Berlin , a Big Berlin Tour, hotel and breakfasts.

The Big Berlin Tour includes the main city sights Kaiser-Wilhelm-Memorial Church , Bauhaus Museum, Philharmonic Hall, Potsdamer Square , Alexander Square , City Hall of Berlin , Berlin Cathedral, State Opera, Boulevard Unter den Linden, Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Bellevue Palace among others.

Germany product manager, Eric Langen said the “Taste of…” package combined the essential transfer, hotel and breakfasts with a tour of the main highlights which was a seamless product for travellers wishing to experience the essential highlights of Berlin .

“Upselling a Trabant Safari sightseeing tour will generate a sense of fun,” he said. “This mirrors our highly successful Paris and Lyon tours in enchanting 2CV Citroen cars.”

Trabant safaris are priced from $87 per person, based on two people. There are 2 types to choose from – the Berlin Classic tour mixes the city’s history and modern life while the Berlin Wild East route explores the former Eastern part of the city.

After a short instruction on how to drive the car, travellers join a Trabant convoy and tune in the radio to listen to the English commentary from the guide in the leading car.
