New Genting SkyWorlds theme park set to open in Q2
Resorts World Genting’s newest theme park is set to open its doors in the second quarter of this year.
It is ‘putting the finishing touches’ on the Genting Skyworlds theme park.
"We believe it will be Southeast Asia’s most anticipated theme park," said RWG Head of Business Operations and Strategies, Lee Thiam during a presentation to unveil its logo.
"It took us a number of years, but the important thing is that we are committed to the park. We are going to ensure that it opens."
RWG says it has invested more than US$800 million in the park.
RWG Leisure and Hospitality Executive Vice President Edward Holloway said it will initially focus on the local market for the first 6-12 months of operation.
"As borders re-open, we expect to have visitors from neighbouring countries such as Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong and China."
The park is situated 6,000 feet above sea level and spans an area of 10.5 hectares.
It is home to 26 rides and attractions including themes from 20th Century Fox through a partnership between Genting Malaysia and 20th Century Fox.
These include Ice Age and Rio themed zones.
Other themed lands include Eagle Mountain, Epic, Liberty Lane, Robots Rivet Town and Andromeda Base.
It will have a capacity for up to 20,000 visitors.
