New Heathrow strike threat
Workers at Heathrow airport are reportedly planning another strike for next weekend, following 48 hours of industrial action at the London hub.
According to the online news provider Ananova, members of the Transport and General Workers Union who work for Swissport are ready to strike on 14 November; the announcement was made just hours after the previous action came to an end.
The union, which claims that the workers have not had a pay rise in 18 months, is stating that workers are “angry” and determined to secure better pay. Swissport is claiming that last weekend’s strike caused minimal disruption, even though several flights were cancelled.
