New home agent network for Canada
A new home-based travel company is being launched in Canada called The Travel Agent Next Door.
Founder Flemming Friisdahl said its primary focus is on supporting home-based agents.
It will assist agents in setting up business, provide sales and marketing tools, training and the ability to earn up to 100% of the commission.
The Travel Agent Next Door has signed agreements with TRAVELSAVERS and The Affluent Traveler Collection which gives member agents access to marketing tools, booking engines, corporate travel leads and a cruise program.
The company is headquartered in Toronto with a branch office in Vancouver and is recognized by ACTA, TICO, CLIA and IATA.
Friisdahl said home-based agents are still growing in number in Canada and account for about 23% of the industry.
"The concept of local was instrumental in the selection of our brand and determined consumers have a desire to deal with somebody local — someone they can depend on and who will be accountable," Friisdahl added.
