New hospitality brand Proper Hotels launched
Recently formed Proper Hospitality has announced the launch of new brand Proper Hotels.
Led by former CEO of the Viceroy Hotel Group Brad Korzen, along with partners Brian De Lowe and Alex Samek, Proper Hotels plans to design and operate bespoke properties in burgeoning ‘urban innovation districts’ of major US cities.
The company has earmarked San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin and Brooklyn for its first properties.
The first Proper Hotel will be a 135-room boutique property in San Francisco’s Mid-Market neighborhood, slated for opening in late 2015.
It will feature three ground floor dining venues and a rooftop restaurant and bar.
"Back in the late 19th and early 20th century, every great city had a grand hotel. These hotels were as much a part of the city’s identity as its monuments and museums," Korzen said.
"They were destinations for travelers and gathering places for locals. Although times have changed, we love what these old world institutions stood for and we think it’s a great time to expand on their legacy."
Each hotel will reflect the distinctive community around it and provide "culturally relevant and enriching experiences, without sacrificing service or the occasional pampering," according to president and co-founder Brian De Lowe.
