A new regional India airline is set to take flight.
JettWings Airways hopes to launch later this year, and will initially start with two Embraer jets.
It aims to have its Air Operator Certificate by September, and then start flying a short time later.
“We plan to start operations on 16 regional routes we have identified by October 2023 or latest by the end of 2023,” Chairman Sanjive Narain said.
JettWings is based at Guwahati, Assam and plans to link tier-II cities in India’s northeast.
Destinations on the radar for the future include Lucknow, Kolkata and Gorakhpur
It aims to offer a premium service.
JettWings is targeting break even within three years.
It also plans to bid to operate government subsidised UDAN essential service regional routes.
