New Indian carrier Vistara selects Amadeus platform
New airline startup Vistara will become the first Indian carrier to implement Amadeus Altéa.
The Singaporean-Indian joint venture will use the platform for reservations, inventory management, airport departure control systems and revenue management.
Vistara’s adoption of the system is a first for India but is already used by more than 120 airlines worldwide, including major backer Singapore Airlines.
"There is a huge opportunity for full service carriers like Vistara to revolutionise Indian air travel with technology as the key differentiator," said Hazem Hussein, EVP, Airline Commercial, Amadeus Asia Pacific.
"Technology can be the make or break difference for airlines and we are proud that Vistara has chosen Amadeus as its founding technology partner."
Vistara plans to launch its first commercial flights before the year end.
