New industry appointments

Affordable Car Hire has appointed Kevin Hall to a newly created post of managing director designate.

Hall will take responsibility for leading and running all aspects of the day-to-day business, including overseeing operations and strategy.

He will report to Affordable Car Hire founder, Angela Day, who retains the title of MD, but will spend more time as the trade face of the company, working on major accounts, including relationships with agency chains and consortia.

Hall joins from www.insurance4carhire.com, where he was head of commercial.
 
Affordable Car Hire has also promoted head of commercial Nick Marney to the new position of commercial director and has appointed Natalie McLean as commercial marketing manager.
 
McLean joins from Teletext Holidays where she was product manager.

Meanwhile travel management company Portman Travel has appointed Adrian Parkes as its new chief customer officer.

The customer acquisition, customer management and marketing teams will report directly into him. He will also join the company’s board of directors.

Parkes joins from Etihad where he was the Vice President of Sales.
