New lastminute tool gives more flight flexibility

Friday, 28 Nov, 2007 0

More flexible flight options are to be offered by lastminute.com.

The company claims to have become the first online travel agency to mix two one way fares with different airlines, if the combined fare is cheaper.

The ‘Sum of One Ways’ technology is designed to cut the time users spend searching for best value flight options, with the cheapest return fares incorporating the potential to use different carriers for different legs of the journey.

The tool, available on a range of destinations in Europe, enables the company to “guarantee” the cheapest return journeys on the internet.

It also offers the ability to reserve airline seats before departure on more than 20 airlines.

UK managing director John Bevan said: “We believe the additional functionality means lastminute.com offers consumers the best tools to find the cheapest and most convenient flights for them.

“Customers can save money when purchasing flights and can also be assured of getting their favourite available seat by booking it prior to travelling.”
