New launch at Thomson

Wednesday, 29 Jul, 2009 0

Thomson is launching its Active Holidays brochure which will combine soft travel adventure with beach holidays.

Active features four hotels in Majorca, Menorca, Fuerteventura and Crete that have been selected for the range and level of sports they offer and have a vast range of facilities plus coaches and professional trainers to suit all abilities.

Each property is strong in a particular area, so while one hotel may feature eight flood-lit tennis courts and expert coaches, another will have a diving school with professional diving instructors to guide beginners through their first underwater experience.

The brochure shows customers which resorts are most suitable for specific activities, by marking each property with a ‘Great for…’ logo, indicating which are best for diving, tennis or fitness. Properties are also differentiated by how they suit different clientele, such as couples or families.

Thomson says the launch is in response to a trend it is seeing away from the traditional fly and flop package holiday.

Head of product for Thomson Alex Loftus said:  “We recognise that
many of our customers seek differentiated experiences with trustworthy
brands that provide excellent value for money. The launch of Active
holidays offers customers the chance to learn a new activity or enjoy an
existing sporting interest while holidaying abroad and take advantage of
the great facilities that we at Thomson have specially selected with the
customer in mind.”

Prices start from £745 per person for a week’s break.
